The cups were inspired by Dr. Illy who always said that coffee should never be drunk alone as it is appreciated most when shared with someone. Coffee is a product that stimulates sociality, conversation and – when enjoyed with another person – it can give place to encounters and real-ideal discussions that can create the suitable conditions to make great ideas a reality.

And it is for this reason that the Ernesto Illy Foundation has taken the metaphor of the two cups of coffee seen from above as its logo – a logo that was initially realized in the 60s by a Dutch designer for illycaffè.
