The
Ernesto Illy Foundation and the University of Bocconi periodically
organize an annual meeting on the subjects of ethics and corporate
sustainability,
two aspects that Dr. Illy dedicated his studies and everyday
activities to, both as a businessman and as a scientist.

This
year the event will be held on May 10, 2012 at
3.30 PM in Aula Magna (Via Gobbi 5) at the
Università Bocconi
in Milan, Italy, entitled Going towards a new concept of riches: from
Businesses
to
the Country System with the 1998 Nobel Prize winner in Economic
Sciences, Amartya Sen, as guest
speaker.

The
first event was held on January 21, 2010 in the new
main hall of the University of Bocconi in Milan (Italy). It also had the
collaboration
of Centromarca,
the Italian association of the brand industry that was presided by Ernesto
Illy for
13 years.

The theme of the first event was entitled "More value to compete
with".
The research on “competition based on value versus price”, a
study initiated by the University of Bocconi on behalf of Centromarca, inspired
by
Ernesto Illy himself, and then concluded in collaboration with the Ernesto
Illy Foundation, was presented during this occasion.

An outstanding group of leaders from the Italian entrepreneurial and institutional
sphere discussed how values and quality are fundamental elements in the
economical and entrepreneurial growth of the “Country” system.
Managers and major entrepreneurs, representatives of the political world
as well as academicians
and researchers participated.

The
research was published in Italian by Egea publishing house (Bocconi), entitled “Creare
valore nella supply chain: modelli di gestione a confronto”.
