The international master’s degree in Coffee Economics and Science – Ernesto Illy, an activity that the Ernesto Illy Foundation is very much involved in, will be inaugurating its 10th edition on Jan. 10th 2020.
26 students from 16 nationalities – Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Italy, Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, Taiwan, Tanzania, Uganda and the United States – will be making the Class of 2020.

As it has done every year since the establishment of the international Master’s degree in Coffee Economics and Science – Ernesto Illy, the Ernesto Illy Foundation will offer financial aid to worthy graduates coming from coffee producing countries to be part of the Class of 2017.
The Foundation will be accepting financial aid requests starting on April 1st 2016 with the deadline of June 15th 2016.
The Evaluation Committee will communicate their verdict in the month of July 2016 to all candidates.
The 6th Edition of the Master Program in “Coffee Economics and Science – Ernesto Illy” was officially inaugurated Friday, January 15th. This year we welcomed 24 incoming students from 16 different countries: Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Italy, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Democratic republic of Congo, Rwanda, United States of America and Taiwan. An impressive record for the Master.
A special thanks to our partners of excellence in the field of education: University of Trieste, University of Udine, illycaffè, SISSA – International School for Advanced Studies, Area Science Park – Trieste and Trieste Coffee Cluster, which have allowed young graduates to attend this one and only master in the world.
The Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Udine e Pordenone has confirmed the reiteration of a scholarship worth 15,000 Euro for a graduate, resident in the province of Udine or Pordenone, to attend and obtain the Master’s degree in Coffee Economics and Science – Ernesto Illy for the accademic year 2015/2016.
The CRUP Foundation has confirmed their generous contribution by putting at the center of their lines of action interventions that support the welfare system and those that intend to contribute to the development of the territory of Friuli Venezia Giulia , focusing on the quality of education and on the increase of cultural growth.

The Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Trieste has confirmed the reiteration of a scholarship worth 15,000 Euro for a graduate, resident in the province of Trieste, to attend and obtain the Master’s degree in Coffee Economics and Science – Ernesto Illy for the accademic year 2015/2016.
The generous contribution that the CRTrieste Foundation has confirmed is an encouragement for the young people of Trieste, who they have supported and continue to support.
The winner of the 2016 scholarship is Enrico Buttignoni, who has a degree in Diplomatic and International Sciences at the University of Trieste, who has stated:
“My goal is to think, explore, challenge myself and place myself in a dynamic environment where there is never a lack of inspiration. This is the right occasion for me.”

To enhance the Coffee Value Chain in Ethiopia, full scholarships have been offered to two Ethiopian students in order to provide them an in-depth training on the entire coffee sector.
The name of the two winners from Ethiopia who will be part of the Class of 2016 are Jaba Alemayehu Merdassa and Damawi Iyasu Eminetu.
